Sodhani Vineyards is a family owned, 12 acre hillside estate with a 6.5 acre Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. The vineyard is nestled in the dense forest in the foothills of Spring Mountain in the St. Helena appellation with sweeping views of the Vaca Mountains across the valley.

Terroir

Perched at a 400 ft elevation with the rarest of volcanic Aiken Stoney Clay loam soil makes SODHANI Vineyards the perfect terroir for exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine quality begins in the vineyard and terroir is the most important element of crafting world-class wine.

Vines

The vines planted in 2000 by Jim Barbour, with clones 7, 15, and 337, each have their own varietal characteristics and are in full maturity producing spectacular fruit. When those 3 clones come together in the finished wine, they make a powerful, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Facing eastside of the valley, the shade from the forest and the mountain cool the vines earlier in the evening allowing better acid development instead of excessive sugar; the ideal micro-climate for Cabernet with warm days and cool nights.

Farming

Our vineyard is farmed by one of Napa Valley’s top farming companies Piña Vineyard Management who has been farming some of Napa’s finest vineyards for the last 50 years.

Due to the steep slope the vineyard is entirely hand farmed throughout the year. We employ a variety of sustainable farming practices to promote soil health, encourage consistent and exceptional grapes, and ensure the longevity of our small vineyard.
