Estate

  •     Bordeaux guarding the vineyard just before sunrise

  • PURSUING A PASSION

SODHANI Vineyards is the culmination of a decade long search for the perfect Cabernet Sauvignon terroir in Napa Valley and the desire to make the very best wine.

  •     SODHANI Vineyards looking west from the Vaca Mountains

  • UNIQUE TERROIR

The vineyard is nestled in the dense forest in the foothills of Spring Mountain in the St Helena appellation with sweeping views of the Vaca Mountains across the valley. Six steeply, sloping acres of the rarest of volcanic Aiken Stoney Clay loam soil makes SODHANI Vineyards the perfect terroir for phenomenal Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard, planted in 2000, is planted to clones 7, 15, and 337 which each has their own varietal characteristics. When those 3 clones come together in the finished wine, they make a powerful, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

  •     Six steeply sloping acres of the perfect terroir

  •     Early Spring rainbow over SODHANI Vineyards

  • MICRO-CLIMATE

Facing eastside of the valley, the shade from the forest and the mountain cool the vines earlier in the evening allowing better acid development instead of excessive sugar; the ideal micro-climate for Cabernet with hot days and cool nights.

  •     Picking 2013 harvest, early morning

  •     Vines producing the perfect cabernet

  • FARMING

Due to the steep slope the vineyard is entirely hand farmed and meticulously hand harvested before dawn so the fruit arrives at the winery in pristine condition.
